This is a 3-day-Laboratory Interpretation Training Course designed to enhance nursing knowledge and skills in analyzing and interpreting routine and critical lab values. It will equip nurses with knowledge and skills in analyzing selected laboratory results (CBC, chemistry, renal lab). Implications of abnormal lab values to and application of theory to clinical practice will be explored in the class.

This course is designed to:

Identify common laboratories that are associated with different diseases and medications’ adverse effects
Interpret clinical symptoms related to abnormal lab values
Recognize and understand underlying problems resulting to prompt nursing intervention

This is a three-day course.

Please note with groups of 5 or more we could create a class any day starting as early as 9am and ending as late as 9pm.

Prerequisite:
Students must be Registered Practical Nurses, Registered Nurses or other healthcare professions which practice laboratory interpretation within their scope of practice.
