Basic Physical Assessment is a comprehensive course that has both a classroom and laboratory component. The course is designed to guide Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses in performing head-to-toe assessment. The course focuses on accurate techniques and performance of inspection, auscultation, percussion, palpation, and history taking. The principles in understanding the theoretical foundation of the anatomy and physiology of essential body systems as well as analyzing and interpreting diagnostic tests will be explored.

This course is designed to:

Demonstrate techniques for inspection, auscultation, percussion, palpation and history taking
Understand the theoretical foundation of the anatomy and physiology of different body systems

This is a five-day course.

Please note with groups of 5 or more we could create a class any day starting as early as 9am and ending as late as 9pm.

Assessment of EENT and Neurological System
Day 3
Assessment of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary System
Day 4
Assessment of Abdomen, Gastrointestinal and Genitourinary System
Day 5
Assessment of Upper and Lower Musculoskeletal System

Prerequisite:
Students must be Registered Practical Nurses, Registered Nurses or other healthcare professions which practice
(Basic Physical Assessment) within their scope of work.
